1. Course Details

The Foundation Programme provides a broad introduction to business,

  • how companies are governed, maintained and financially managed,
  • the laws to which they must adhere.

The knowledge and skills gained through the Foundation Programme is good preparation for studying Part One of the qualifying programme.

The Foundation Programme is examined in a single THREE hour paper which covers the following FOUR sections :

  • Business environment – how businesses are organised and run and how the external environment affects business activities
  • Law – an introduction to corporate and business (commercial) law and the legal framework within which businesses operate
  • Company compliance and administration – introducing legal, ownership and management structures for companies, how companies are incorporated and routine company compliance and governance obligations
  • Finance – the basics of bookkeeping and how to understand the components of financial documentation as well as the principles of financial decision making.

2. Entry Requirements

CGI has no entry requirement for Foundation Level.

The Educational Authorities in Mauritius require any of:
1. A pass at HSC level 3P&1S or 2P&2S;
2. GCE A-level in three subjects;
3. A relevant Diploma from a recognised Institution.

Those awaiting HSC results may enrol provisionally and attach their 2nd Term school results to the enrolment form.

4. Fees

Course Fees

The Course Fee for Foundation is Rs 14 000

4.1 Self- financed students may apply for payment facilities (conditions apply) using the prescribed request form available from administration. Kindly contact admin@belstartraining.com

4.2 Sponsored students may, in lieu of payment, produce a letter from their firm confirming that course fees will be settled in full before classes start.

  1. NID Card
  2. Either Certificates meeting entry requirements (HSC or GCE A Level)
